Okay this is not something I would normally do but I'm soooo frustrated by the shear lack of ability of a bike shop to be able to ........fix bikes!!!

The shop I speak of is the Cannondale place down near the end of Old Airport Road (2nd Street). I'm not kidding when I say they just cannot even simply fix a flat tyre!!

To date I've taken an adults racer (needing a new front shifter), a kids bike (needing a piece for the brake calliper), and now today they can't repair a flat tyre Embarassed Embarassed

If you go into any reputable bike shop, they will review the issue and advise you on options to solve the problem. "Spare parts? Sure we don't have the piece you need here, but we can get that from ...." No unfortunately this is never an option here. Instead the bike can sit there for weeks until you call and they tell you nothing could be done!!

It is so unfortunate there isn't a proper bike shop in Abu Dhabi, especially considering (a) the money people spend on bikes in this country, (b) the ever growing population is cyclists and (c) the grand prix facility Available every Tuesday night.

If anyone is ever looking for a recommendation for a bike shop in the UAE then I can say with the confidence of experience that they should stay well away from Cannondale.

Rory - whilst we "know a man who can" I have to ask why you took a bike to a bike shop to repair a flat tyre? !!
