Fitness Requirements for Riding with the Raha Group

For safety reasons it is important to have the correct level of fitness before you participate on one of our rides.

It is difficult to be definitive, but the following provides some fitness guidelines for rides using Yas Racing Track performance:

If you can cycle for 60 minutes at a sustained 29/30 kph you should be able to manage the Saturday steady ride.

If you can cycle for 90 minutes on the Yas track at a sustained 31/32 kph you should be able to manage the Friday medium paced ride.

If you are a relatively new rider, we strongly recommend that you start with the Saturday steady ride and progress from there.

Fast Group Fitness

There is also a fast group for more experienced riders, the fitness requirements... if you have raced and still maintain a good level of fitness or are a current racer then its for you. If you are not sure... if you can ride several laps of Yas on a Tuesday around 8mins 30 secs, solo or can ride 100km at 32km/h+ then you should be fine. The rider requirements... the ride includes elements of through and off (chaingang) and you should be competent in this and echelon riding.
